

On the afternoon of September 28, 2025, the awards ceremony for the 8th International Charity Painting Competition was successfully held in Laval, Greater Montréal, Canada. The event was co-hosted by Montréal emcee Dayu and youth emcee Tang Ruiya, and co-organized by the North American International Artists Association (NAIA) and the Quebec Sichuan Association & Chamber of Commerce in Canada. The ceremony drew art lovers and cultural figures from around the world, creating a solemn yet vibrant atmosphere.

During the ceremony, the organizers and presenters conferred awards on the winning participants. This year’s competition received over 400 submissions. After multiple rounds of review, the jury selected 2 First Prizes, 12 Second Prizes, 12 Third Prizes, and 14 Merit Awards. In addition to certificates and gifts, First- and Second-Prize winners also received works personally brought from China by Ms. Fan Xiuqing, including pieces by renowned Chinese calligrapher-painter Mr. Wu Xu and artist Ms. Liu Qingkun. Ms. Fan also presented her own works, encouraging young people to keep exploring and growing along their artistic journeys.

In an interactive segment, youth host Tang Ruiya chatted with awardees about their painting process, creative inspirations, and understanding of traditional Chinese culture, giving the audience a deeper look at the stories behind these young artists’ works.
With the theme “Hello: From My Festival to Your World,” this year’s competition embraced diverse subjects, showcasing the integration of traditional Chinese culture with multicultural expression. President Fan Xiuqing reflected on eight years of steadfastly organizing the International Charity Painting Competition, committed to building bridges for youth exchange and China–Canada cultural integration.

After learning about President Fan’s experience organizing the event, MP Fayçal El-Khoury expressed his best wishes for children’s joyful growth and his hopes for the continued development of China–Canada relations. President Fan presented Chinese zodiac souvenirs she had brought back from China to the MP, as well as to principals and instructors from co-organizing institutions.
At the close of the ceremony, President Fan Xiuqing extended heartfelt thanks to governments at all levels in Canada, the Chinese Consulate General in Montréal, sponsor TD Bank, co-organizers and partners worldwide, participants, judges, and volunteers.
